Benny Lopez

Benny Lopez of McGregor passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015. His memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, at Cole Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Allison officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 5, at Cole Funeral Home.

Benny was born on February 14, 1977 in Gatesville, TX to Gloria Perez. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He lived without limitations or regret to the absolute fullest. He was said to have been like gravity, everyone was attracted to him as a person, it was undeniable. He was a man of many trades who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. If you were lucky enough to call Benny your friend, you were family to him.

Benny graduated from McGregor High School in 1995. He had countless friends who loved him like a brother. He was and still is the life of the party. He enjoyed playing pool and hanging out with family and friends. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and Baylor Bears.

He is greeted and embraced into Heaven by his maternal grandparents, Cruz and Catarina Marquez; his father, Frank Perez.

Benny is survived by his wife, Brenda Dominguez-Lopez; daughter, Ariana Lopez; mother, Gloria Perez; siblings, Rene Lopez and wife Kourtney, Leticia Perez and husband Frank, Jesse Carillo, Mandy Myatt and husband Jamey and Alyssa McGahey, all of McGregor; special uncle who was like a father, Manuel Marquez; nephews, Zarek Lopez, John “JP” Backer-Lopez, Christian Lopez, Jordan and Caden Holland; god daughter, Lessette Martinez and several other relative and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mandy Myatt, Amber Vela, Shawnarey Campos, Tolita Carillo, Tarra Perez, Katina Arechiga, Laurie Johnson, Lisa Crow, Evelina Tena, and Brenda Anderson.
