Walter Lee Paul

Walter L. Paul, age 81, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born in Shellman, Georgia on October 19, 1942 to the late Ernest and Nora Lee Paul. Walter was also preceded in death by his sister Gwendolyn Carswell and his brother Charles Paul. Mr. Paul was a proud Air Force Veteran. He was very proud of his humble beginnings and worked hard and became owner of Walter Paul, Inc. for 59 years. Big Walter was a passionate giver, loyal to his family and loved Jesus. He enjoyed being with family, fishing and walking at the gym with friends. His driving passion was to make people laugh and celebrate life each day. He delivered for Meals On Wheels and worked with Helping In His Name Ministry. Walter also served on the funeral meal committee at Bethany Baptist Church where he and Lanelle have been members for 22 years. Mr. Paul is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lanelle Paul, two children, Kevin (Amy) Paul and Kim (Mike) Champney, five grandchildren, Rachel (Trey aka Trex) Hartman, Rebecca (Collin aka Collier) Hamby, Regan Paul, Brooks Walter Champney and Bella Champney, great granddaughter, Riley Joy Hartman. He is also survived by his four sisters, Bobbie Porter, Winell (Ray) White, Jackie (Charles) Hazelrig and Anita Short. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and friends, all of whom he cherished dearly. If you knew Walter you know that he valued his time with you and you were very special to him. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on July 31, 2024 at Bethany Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
