My husband  Tim McCoy has lots and lots of memories....Uncle Tom was like a dad to him....We will miss our weekly calls ....we love you with all our heart...Tim and Lori 

Wow!  Where do I begin to express into words how fabulous this man was to me?  He and my mother made the person I am today.  They taught me to work hard, be kind, respectful,  and self-sufficient.  I have learned so much from them and I think it's humorous how different those teachings were...My mom taught me to be a woman, to garden, to can, to have a love of flowers and a green thumb, but mostly the love for Jesus Christ.  Me and my dad stayed in the garage together.   We built my first car together when I was 14, we tinkered on engines, I cleaned his tools, and I learned that chewing my fingernails kept grease from laying under them.   I learned so much about building houses as he helped me build my two homes.  We loved to have our ritual morning and evening conversations about the Braves and Tom Brady, but if he wanted to get me fired up, he would bring up politics and taxes.  Losing my mother was a tremendous loss to us all, but he really stepped up and rose to the challenge; I was so proud of him.  My life will never be the same without them.  I now have this hole in my heart but I will do everything to make them proud and extend the legacy they have taught me.  I love you Mom and Dad and I'm happy you are together.  You are my true inspiration and I will be forever grateful.   Thank you for who I am; I couldn't be happier!  Forever your baby!!!

Uncle Tom was not only one of the best Uncles, mechanics, and sweetest man, he was also my dad's best friend until he passed in 1990!! Some of my best childhood memories were being at their house every weekend while my dad and Uncle Tom worked on cars, my mom and Aunt Arline were in the kitchen while she canned what came out of their garden, and me,  Cheri, and Darlene run around playing and Wendy even making us come in her room before the three of us got in trouble!!! Those were some of my best childhood memories that I will always be grateful for!
Uncle Tom, you will be missed here but I know the love of your life, my daddy, and my mama all three were welcoming you home with open arms!! Rest in peace in God's Glory Land until we see you again!!!

Tom was the sweetest, funniest & best handyman ever.  I have so many fond memories of Tom & my dad staying up all night working on cars or night fishing.  Tom was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed!!

We are so sorry. You were a sweet and funny guy. I can still see you and Daddy and the rest of the men playing cards and having a good time in Grandma's living room. May you rest in the arms of God.


The light of my life!  The smartest, funniest, most loving human I have ever known and I’m glad I get to call him daddy. He was my best friend.  There was absolutely nothing I couldn’t talk to him about. He was free with opinions and advise. He was as nurturing as any mother could be.   He thinks ok me shopping for my prom dresses.  He initiated and fed my love for Disney.  He believed and fostered  all dreams.  He always made sure that I 
knew how proud he was of me.   He kept 
me on my toes. He loved my children as 
much (or more) than he loved me.  I’m so thankful for the many hours we spent in the garage or in the yard always working on a Project.  Oh, how many drawings I created that he brought to fruition. He was my favorite dance partner.
As gas prices started to go up and I would complain....  he advised me how I could save gas money.  “You put bigger tires on the back of your auto and you would always be coasting down hill”.  Simply brilliant....lol.  He always  told me, he was the richest man in the world. Now, I truly appreciate what he meant.

I was figuring the area of a circle (to make a Mickey head) when he asked how I came up with a number.  In a very educated math teacher lecture, I told him area =(pi)(R-squared).  As quick  as I said that, he said,”Pi aren’t squared, Pi are round. Cornbread is square”.



Tom McCoy was my Father -In-Law. He was one of the best men I had ever met.  I met him when I was engaged to marry his son Gary. . Him and Maw took me into there family like they had known me all of my life..
   I remember so many funny thing he had done or would tell.  We always had a wonderful time when we would visit them in Forest Park. Ga. Florida and mcDonough.  
   He could build any thing,and could repair anything.  
  He will truly be miss and we love you Paw Paw.  See you one day in Heaven Thank you for all you did for us.

Uncle Tom took me to his favorite place Walt Disney and showed Henry, Kirk, and I the time of our lives when we were kids. I loved the visits to Jacksonville and all the lectures on all the ideas of remodeling the house at Hecksher but we have put all of the input of decor that you offered and I know you would be proud of all the work that my husband (Roger) and my dad (Archie) has done, I am sure gonna miss your smile and the talks we had at the shop, you was an inspiration and admirable man to my husband. Thank you for being one of the Uncles that I totally respected and loved. My husband and I send our prayers and condolences to all of your family, air hugs and kisses to each and all.

i will miss him even more.. a man that knew something about everything ... his few words were . get a bigger hammer or we'll let the next guy worry bout that.  always working on or making or fixing something... loved his tools an garage   .   love you POP     ...

My Dad was a great and caring man. He was always fast to do anything for people. I will surely miss him.  I will miss the talks we had just about every morning on back porch just about the news of the day. He helped my husband build our down stairs.  He would add something to each room to remember him by . I asked him to make me an arch between rooms and I loved it. I will always have him in my heart.  He will surely be missed. He was always smiling and cared for everyone.  Miss him so much.

Tom and I only go back 22 years or so when we moved into the subdivision behind him.  We got to be what I called "fence friends" when after getting a dog we had a fence installed around the back yard.  His dog Honey and our dog Kuma would run back and forth along the fence barking at each other until Honey would get tired and lay down.  We spent many, many hours leaning on the fence talking.  He would help me any time I needed it if I had a lawn mower problem and even built a feeder for Kuma one time....He reminded me of my father who could also do most anything that was needed.  I met many of his children and would watch his grandchildren play in the back yard ..  I know he will be missed here on earth but obviously God needed a handyman and called Tom's name.  RIP good friend


Tom McCoy was an awesome man and my Grandfather. He was the reason I almost went to the Marines.  I was a Day from signing and he called me the night before and said that was no place for a woman . I just wanted to have the title of Marine like he did. Glad he did now that I think back . So RIP Tom I will always remember your Great Smile. Your Great Laugh! And how you would sorta whistle when you said certain words! And growing up as a kid going to his house playing in his work shop.  With the air tank in the background filling back up with pressure .  And everyday that I was able to Visit you at Forest Park High and you allowing me to write my name in the cement ! I would race to the room to see you. We grew a bond and will never forget it or You ! Love you and will always have you in my heart!
