Stuart Foster Longino, age 76, of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022. He was born in Southampton, England on June 24, 1946, to the late Edwin "Pete" and Irene Longino. Stuart grew up in Decatur, Georgia. He was a 1964 graduate of Southwest DeKalb High School and had an Associates degree from Clayton Junior College. He was a proud U.S. Marine and served from 1964 to 1968 including a tour in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. After leaving the military, Stuart was employed by Delta Airlines for thirty-three years until his retirement in 2001. Stuart enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter; he spent countless happy times with his many friends at the Chattahoochee Hunting Club of which he was a member for over fifty years. He was an amazing cook and loved to create "gold medal memories" for his family and friends. If you were lucky enough to know him, you were blessed to experience his intelligence, his sense of humor, and his loving heart. Stuart was a wonderful husband, father, and friend, and a cherished "Pappy" to his grandsons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Longino was preceded in death by his son, Stuart Charles Longino and his sister, Jennifer Davies. Stuart is survived by his loving spouse of fifty-four years, Phyllis Gale Longino; children, Bart Longino of Jackson and Beth (Randy) Mason of McDonough; grandchildren, Dillon, Brennan and Logan Mason of McDonough; brother, John (Linda) Longino of Stone Mountain; mother-in-law Frances Johnson of Tempe, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on December 17, 2022, at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. Interment will be on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 12:30 pm at the Georgia National Cemetery located in Canton, Georgia.
