Ruby Christine Evans

Mrs. Ruby Christine “Chris” Evans, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023. Christine was born in Cobb County to the late William Randolph and Fannie Mae (Grogan) Vernon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Miles O. Evans; 1st husband, Olin Thomas Henson, Sr.; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Mrs. Evans was a member of Locust Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fellowship with Saints Alive Seniors and sang in the choir. Chris volunteered for Meals on Wheels until she was 89.

Christine is survived by her son, Olin Thomas “Tom” (Connie) Henson, Jr.; granddaughter, Tabatha Henson; grandsons, James (Karen) Henson, Thomas Henson, Christopher (Teresa) Fincher; great grandchildren, Ryan Hall, Kayley Fincher, Conner Fullerton, Quinn Holcomb, Logan Carter; great-great grandchildren, Leo and Laila; sister, Ilene (Ray) Gray.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday April 22, 2023 at Locust Grove United Methodist Church. Interment will follow 3:30 pm at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens 581 Veterans Memorial Hwy. SE, Mableton, GA, 30126. The family will receive friends Friday, April 21, 23 at Haisten Funerals and Cremation 1745 Zack Hinton Pkwy. S. McDonough, GA 30253.
