Noel Gibson

Mr. Noel Gibson, age 94, of McDonough, GA passed away April 15, 2017. Mr. Gibson was born in Goshen, AL the son of the late Effie Mount Gibson and Henry Gibson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Vernon Rabren and all of his siblings.

Mr. Gibson served his county in the US Navy from 1940 until 1946 and was a proud WWII veteran. He was a member of McDonough Baptist Tabernacle where he served in all areas of the church. Mr. Gibson enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, gardening, fishing, and working outside.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Omia Gibson of McDonough; children, Jerry Rabren of Cartersville, Gail Casteel (Fred) of Panama City, FL., Darlene Duhon (Keith) of Buena Vista, GA, and Leigh Ann Carithers (Jimmy) of McDonough; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 – 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 – 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro at 3:30 PM.
