Nicholas Ryan Smith

Nicholas Ryan Smith, age 44, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was born in Atlanta on November 23, 1978. His passion and joy was his family and he loved his friends and spending time with them. Nick was a man strong in his faith as a Christian and he gave himself to God. He went to Henry County Schools where he grew up and graduated in 1997 and then attended Georgia Southern. Nick met Shelly during college and fell in love. Together they attended countless UGA games, weddings and events for and with loved ones. Nick proposed in 2006 and they were married in May of 2007. Not long after, they started their family, first with Lincoln in 2009 and then Kane in 2012. To Nick, family was everything and he loved everyone and being together. Whether it was from the sidelines yelling for his boys or coaching their teams and telling everyone "do your job". His heart found pure joy in being the husband, father and brother to all he loved. Nick is also survived by his mom, Jo Ann Smith, his father Glenn (Paulette) Smith, sister, Nicole Hayslip and his brother-in-law, Brandon Hayslip, two other sisters Jennifer Price and Jessica Smith, his brother-in-law Andy Shearer and father and mother-in-law, William and Diane Shearer. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
