Melanie was a long time cook at Big Chic in Jackson, Georgia. When she wasn’t cooking she enjoyed spending time at the beach and the mountains. Melanie loved Jesus with all her heart. She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Dunaway of Locust Grove, Georgia; daughters Jan (Tim) Haase of Wyoming, Shae (Michael) Leiber of Jenkinsburg, Georgia; siblings Debbie (Ken) Dickey of Monticello, Georgia, Kathy (Jay) Overby of Conyers, Georgia, Bobby (Tina) Stodghill of The Villages, Florida along with several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Haisten Funerals and Cremations in McDonough. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough.
