Max Owen Elliott, age 87, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was an amazing husband to his wife of 50 years, Linda Elliott. Max was the best Daddy to his daughters, Fawn Greer (Todd) and Priscilla Bergman (Phil). He was also blessed with 6 grandchildren, Grant Crate (Delkin), Adam Michael Crate, Jr. (Olivia), Zachary Bergman (Nicole), Dalin Krug (Aaron), Joline Bergman, and Kara Bergman. He was doubly blessed with 4 great-grandchildren, Max, Faye, Emma, and Georgia. Max also leaves behind his baby sister, Ruth Ann Storms (Eddie). He also leaves behind multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, mom, his brother, Robert and his sister, Elizabeth. He was also preceded in death by his sweet baby great-grandson, Owen Orlando. Max was born on October 6,1937 in Alva, Kentucky to Owen and Ada Elliott. He grew up in a small coal mining town, Blackstar, Kentucky enjoying all the things his small town offered. Max grew up playing basketball and continued to enjoy watching his UK Wildcats. Max retired from the Army after serving his country for 21 years. His career shifted to Southern Railway later Norfolk Southern for 23 years. He finished up his work life working 14 years at H&R Block. Max had so many things he enjoyed in life. He loved to travel. He and Linda enjoyed places like Germany, Austria, Israel, Honduras, Thailand, and cruised to the Panama Canal. Max also loved to fish. His favorite place to fish was The Forest. This is where for 40 years we spent family vacations. It started with the 4 of us and now it has grown to 20 on any given year. Max loved his family more than anything else. He certainly showed that love to Linda and his girls by always being the spiritual leader of his home. Max accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1974. He and Linda always made raising the family in a Christian home a major priority. Over the years he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and on multiple committees. One of his biggest passions was international and domestic mission trips. Max loved his Lord and now is perfectly healed in his heavenly home. Private interment service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery. Max was a member of Southern Crescent Baptist Church where a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans
