Mary Katie Katherine Allen Knoop

Mrs. Mary Katherine Knoop, better known as Katie, age 47, of Ramrod Key, Florida passed away on June 5, 2016. Katie was born in Lorraine, Ohio to Cathleen and William Allen on October 18, 1968. She was a smart business woman, holding many management and financial advising positions throughout her career. Katie was known for her smile, contagious laughter, witty sense of humor, and outgoing personality. She never met a stranger and you were instantly a friend. She was an amazing woman who showed compassion to all who crossed her path. Katie was known for being a caregiver, always finding a way to help even when there wasn’t a need at hand. She loved to cook and was very good at it. Katie’s doors were always open; she was a great host and treasured time spent with family and friends. Walking the beach and spending time with her dog, Lexi, were among many of the things that Katie enjoyed. Katie leaves behind her husband, Michael Dennis Knoop of Ramrod Key, Florida; step-son, Sean Knoop of St. Pete, Florida; mother, Cathleen Cotter Allen of McDonough, Georgia; father, William H. Allen and his wife, Carolynn of McDonough, Georgia; sisters, Tracy Miller and her husband, Mike of Stockbridge, Georgia, Tari Baron and her husband, Hank of Fortson, Georgia, and Jodi Steele of McDonough, Georgia; step-sister, Julie Mayes and her husband, Allen of Conyers, Georgia; nieces, Lillian Bristow and London Smith of McDonough, Georgia; nephews, Jackson and Garrison Minter of McDonough, Georgia; best friends, Beth Bryant, Cindy Sullivan, and Chris Glaze; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Her step-son, Kelley Knoop, brother-in-law, Stan Steele, and a cousin, Myleah Tidwell preceded her in death. A service to honor Katie’s life will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 beginning 2:00PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
