Mary Jane Haynes

Mrs. Mary Jane Thurston Haynes, age 77, of McDonough, GA passed away June 5, 2016. Mrs. Haynes was born in Hampton, GA the daughter of the late Mary Estelle King Thurston and John Thomas Thurston. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Hilton. Mrs. Haynes enjoyed spending time with family and friends, she was a graduate of Jonesboro High School and Marsh Business College, she was retired from the Henry County Board of Commissioners, and she enjoyed serving her church in various jobs. Survivors are her husband of 53 years, Marion Haynes of McDonough; daughter, Marcene Evans of Stockbridge; stepson, Jeff Haynes of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Sarah and Kenny Evans of Stockbridge; step grandchildren, Brittany, Elizabeth, and Victoria Evans of Griffin; and a sister and a brother-in-law, Brenda and Jack McClendon of McDonough; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be on Friday, June 10, 2016 – 2:00 PM at Prospect United Methodist Church in Covington, GA with Rev. Ronny Brannen and Rev Lawrence Lockett officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 – 8:00 PM. For those who wish in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
