Lottie Greer, age 92, of Hampton, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022. She was born in Griffin, GA to the late Albert T. Chapman, Sr. and Elna Ruth Shepherd Chapman. She was the youngest of five children and preceded in death by her brothers Doug, Joe and Tag Chapman and her sister Minnie Dunn. At 13 (1943) she moved with her parents to Hampton. In 1946, her parents bought the family home on McDonough Street. Lottie loved growing up in Hampton, playing basketball in school and she fondly remembered her classmates and friends. After graduation from Hampton High School in 1947, Lottie worked at Southern States for a while and then for a local grocer. In 1953, she married Billy Greer and had two daughters, Anita and Dawn. Lottie was a dedicated homemaker and an excellent seamstress for her family. In the 1970's she drove a school bus from Hampton to East Point and back. She also worked and eventually managed local elections for both Henry County and the City of Hampton. She was able to share her sewing knowledge when she worked at a fabric store in Griffin. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hampton. She became a grandmother in 1984 (Billy) and 1988 (Candace). She and her husband Billy enjoyed his retirement until his death in 1995. Lottie was blessed with love a second time in 1996 with R.W. Coley. They enjoyed daily life and traveling until his death in 2012. Lottie became a great grandmother in 2013 and had four great grandsons. Lottie never met a stranger, loved to people watch and sit on her front porch. She loved her family and friends and loved spending time with them. Lottie is survived by her daughters, Anita Carson of McDonough and Dawn Greer of Hampton, two grandchildren, Billy (Carlie) Carson and Candace Carson, four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm - 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, GA. Services will be held in our chapel at 2:00pm and the burial will follow at Berea Cemetery in Hampton, Georgia.
