Linda Marie Quillen passed away due to complications from ALS on April 25, 2020 at the age of 56. She earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee and obtained a Master’s in Education at Piedmont College. She taught elementary school for 30 years in Henry County, Georgia at Fairview Elementary, Cotton Indian Elementary and Walnut Creek Elementary. She was a two-time winner of the Teacher of the Year Award. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, going to concerts, playing piano, traveling to the mountains in Tennessee and the beach in North Carolina. She had a strong passion for faith and attended Mass at St James the Apostle Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her unending selflessness, immeasurable patience, unbreakable faith, and endearing smile. She was known to form bonds with many of her students that would last long after she taught them. She was the rock of her family and a close friend and mentor to many students and teachers she met throughout her life. Her impact in the lives of others will never be forgotten. She is survived by her husband, Kyle Quillen, children, Tyler Quillen and Tori Quillen, step father, Kyle Baxter, and sister, Kathy Simpson. She is preceded in death by her mother, Amelia Dreon Baxter, and her sister, Margaret Dreon.

Linda’s Memorial service and Mass will be held at later date, pending the Covid restrictions currently in place.
