Kenneth Latres Long was born on May 24, 1954 in Pompano Beach, Florida to the late Clarence Long, Sr. and Katie Long. He traded in his labor of love on this earth on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Kenneth, fondly know as “Kenny”, was a graduate of Deerfield High School, received his Associate Degree from Broward College before trading in the books for service in the United States Marine Corp. After his service, he became a Technology guru serving over 20 years at IBM and TravelPort. Kenny was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church since 2020. Preceded him on his journey home, niece Shereka Harris, sister Valerie Long and nephew Chris Bell. He leaves behind the love of life, wife, and best friend Evelyn Long, sons Nakia (Ne’Keya) Ewings, Marques Long, daughter Kennydra Long, grandsons Austin Ewings and Johnathan Cain, Jr., brothers Tommy (Mary) Bowers, Arthur (Sara) Long, Clarence Long, Derrick (Anita) Long, sisters Jean (Richard) Peterson, Gwen Long, and Leslie Long. Special Cousin Norris (Mary) Pollock, sister n love Le’Sia Parker, brother n love Hammad Karim (Zaheerah Aleem), brother n love Roy (Wanda) Whitehead and Jay (Joyce) Whitehead and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253. A celebration of life will be Friday, February 28, 2025 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 262 Macon St, McDonough, GA 30253. Followed by a committal service at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252.
