Kelly M. Amos, age 61 passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022. Kelly was born in Atlanta, Ga to the late Charles Welch and Penny Welch and would go on to graduate from North Clayton Sr. High School in 1979.
Kelly met and fell in love with Wm. Mark Amos in 1976 and in 1982 they began a 40 year journey as partners in marriage. Among Kelly's many God given talents is one of hospitality. She had the spiritual gift of making anyone feel welcome in her home. Typically this took the form of a meal. Kelly could easily be called the "Martha Stewart of Henry County" because whether she was catering a wedding for 250 people, a cookout or an intimate dinner for friends or family, Kelly's love for you was always the main course. Always quick with a dazzling smile that lit any room and embraced any heart, Kelly's instinctive ability to let you know you were loved was her life-long signature. That signature is forever etched on the hearts, minds and souls of not only Penny and Mark but also her children Wm. Corey Amos and his wife Kayla and Candace Marie Amos Houk. It has been said that someone's greatest love is reserved for grandchildren and Kelly's were no exception. Carter James Amos, William Charles Amos, Olivia Houk Amos and Isabella Amos were certainly recipients of her abundant love. Kelly was also blessed with her sisters Misty Lea Mick and Tara Nicole Smith along with her nieces and nephews Kendall Mick, Zoe Mick and Holden Smith. On Saturday March 5, 2022 Kelly's life will be celebrated at Southwest Christian Church in Newnan, Ga where she and Mark have been members since 1991. The service will begin at 3:00 pm however friends are invited to visit for an hour before and continue the fellowship after the service as well.
