Juanita M Danford

Juanita Marie Danford; Marie to friends and family, passed away on November 20, 2022 at age 93 after a long illness. Marie was born on April 12 1929 to James and Irene Jordan of Atlanta, GA. She was the devoted wife of Charles Edward Danford III and loving mother of Charles “Chuck” Danford and Laurie Danford Tyson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her four siblings, her beloved son “Chuck” and husband Charles.

Marie is survived by her daughter Laurie Tyson, Son in Law James Tyson, Grandson James Daniel Tyson and wife Michelle Tyson, nieces Alanna Lumsden, and Catherine Danford as well as a grandnephew and niece.

Marie was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. Marie was a strong woman who faced every challenge in life with courage and dignity.

Marie was a graduate of Druid Hills High School in Decatur. Marie worked as a florist for many years in both Decatur and Conyers. She dedicated herself to her church and family. She was her daughter’s biggest fan in all her theatrical endeavors both as a Performer and High School Director. Marie loved and was a passionate supporter of Atlanta Soccer and a life-long fan of the Atlanta Braves.

A Memorial service will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Conyers, GA on a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church.
