Joy Ann Puryear, age 86, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. She was born in Crossville, Alabama on December 5, 1935 to the late Troy and Iva Croft. Joy was also preceded in death by her siblings, Troy, Donald, Bill, Robert, Jessie, Louise and Betty. "Grandma" enjoyed sewing, embroidery work, ceramics, gardening (anything outside) and especially her family. She attended Eagle's Landing Baptist Church and worked for Epsco for many years as an electronic assembler. Joy is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Joe) Virkstis of Locust Grove, grandchildren, Ashley Thomas and Tyler (Katie) Virkstis, one great granddaughter, Lily, one sister-in-law, Charlotte Croft of Ellenwood, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Summerville, Georgia.
