Mr. Joseph Graham Hayes, Sr., age 94 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away December 21, 2018. He was born in Lewisburg, TN to the late Mark and Carrie Belle Graham Hayes. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Lorraine Hayes and his second wife, Laura Upchurch Hayes, granddaughter, Cynthia Sue Norris and by brothers, Robert London Hayes and William Hayes. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He attended Georgia Tech and retired after 38 years with Norfolk-Southern. He was also owner of Hayes Electric for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting rabbit, travel and coaching baseball. He was an avid golfer and Atlanta Braves fan. Mr. Hayes was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his children, Gloria H. Norris of Locust Grove, Joseph Graham (Mary) Hayes, Jr. of Douglasville, Mack (Deborah) Bass of Daytona Beach, FL and Donna (Eddie) Davis of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Kelley Eileen Norris, James Joseph Norris, Christopher Davis, Chad Davis, Joseph Bruce Hayes and Travis Hayes; great grandchildren, Amberly Dawn Stockton, Alyssa Lorraine Stockton, Sophia Bruce, Brandon Bruce, Porsha Bruce, Aubrey Davis; great-great granddaughter, Raina Stockton West. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 – 2:00 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service Thursday. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park at 3:30 PM.
