John "Chip" Scroggs, age 55 was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, November 18, 2023.
Chip graduated from the University of West Georgia in 1992 with a degree in Geology and as a proud member of TKE fraternity. He put his education to use in a career he loved with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Chip married Rachel in 1996 and together they raised their daughter Julia (Daniel) Eggland and son Tommy Scroggs.
Chip loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid sports fan who always cheered for the Bulldogs of UGA as well the Atlanta Braves.
In addition to Rachel, Julia and Tommy, Chip is also survived by his father John T. Scroggs, his brother Ross (Mary) Scroggs, his sister Dody Cochran and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Chip was preceded in death by his mother Jean Scroggs.
A memorial Service will be held at St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in McDonough, Ga on Saturday December 16, 2023 at 11:00 am.
