John Jones

Mr. John Dock Jones Sr., age 80, of Hampton, GA passed away December 14, 2015. Johnny was born in Griffin, GA the son of the late Ailene Frances Owens Jones and Louie Franklin Jones. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Claude and Winfred Jones. Johnny was a member of Teamon Baptist Church which is now Eagles Landing First Baptist Church of Griffin. He was a member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge #70. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and reading western novels. Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Berma Austin Jones of Hampton; children, Jay Jones (Amy) of Loganville, and Cindy Acree (Jim) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Katie and Ellie Jones, Jessica Gwinette, Austin Acree and Erica Acree Durflinger; great grandchildren, Alexandria Collins and Christopher Collins; sister, Shirley Harrell of High Falls; brothers, Frank Jones (Kannika) of Barnesville, and Arthur Jones (Carol) of Griffin; several nieces and nephews. A visitation for Johnny Jones will be on Wednesday evening from 5 – 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough with Rev. Bill Stokes officiating. Interment will follow at Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery in Griffin.
