Jo Hammock Dailey

Mrs. Jo Hammock Dailey, age 82, of McDonough, GA passed away May 2, 2018. Jo was born in Locust Grove, the daughter of the late Belle Rosser Hammock and James Madison Hammock. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hammock.

Jo enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, bird watching and being a Nana. She graduated from Henry County High School Class of 1954. Jo retired from the Secretary of State Agriculture office with 25 plus years, worked for the County Agent Extension, and part time for the Henry County voter’s registrar office. She was a member of the Timberridge Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are her children, Mary Jo Brown (Alan) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Jimmy Thurmond (Susie) of McDonough and Lisa Thurmond of McDonough; special friend, Larry Jackson of Round Oak, GA; grandchildren, Katie Cooperman (Spencer), Caroline Feldman (Clayton), Will Thurmond (Claire) and Jake Thurmond; siblings, Ray Hammock (Alice), Jeff Hammock, Dennis Hammock and Janie Pye; sister-in-law, Gail Hammock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home at 4:00 PM.
