Mrs. Janie Louise Hampton, age 84 of Jenkinsburg, Georgia passed away September 10, 2014. She was born in Fairfax, Alabama to the late Thomas Jefferson and Bessie Louise Waits Corley. Janie retired from United Family Life Insurance Company and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna. In her early years, she sang in a gospel music trio. She was an avid reader of the Bible. Janie enjoyed cooking and having family gatherings. Survivors include her son, Johnny Hampton of Jenkinsburg; grandsons, Shane (Fran) Hampton of Locust Grove, Jason (Natelie) Hampton of Locust Grove; great grandchildren, Peyton, Emily, Olivia and Julia; sister, Barbara Williams of Jasper; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 15, 2014 at 12:00 pm from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Pastor Layton Sampson will officiate.
