Janet Marie Harper

Mrs. Janet Marie Harper, 64 of McDonough passed away April 30, 2019. She was born in Atlanta on August 23, 1954 to the late Linton Copeland and Mattie Pearl McClain Smith. Mrs. Harper enjoyed spending time with her family and going to the beach. She was a day care director for many years, a foster parent, and loved babysitting and taking take of children. Janet is survived by her husband of 45 years, Barry Harper, children Robert (Jennifer) Harper of Locust Grove and Tammy (Chris) Saunders of Forsyth. Four grandchildren, Sara, Molly and Avery Harper and Brooke Saunders. Two sisters, Terrie (Michael) Roby of McDonough, Debbie Smith of Lovejoy, two brothers, Linton Smith, Jr. of Linden, MI and James (Marla) Smith of Tyrone and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers those desiring may send contributions to St. Jude. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Thursday, May 2, 2019. A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Harper will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Haisten Funeral and Cremations. 770-914-8833
