Pop was a true heart of gold. A Champion, if you will. In the eyes of not only his wife, kids and grandkids, but so many others. He had an impact on everyone’s lives he came in contact with. I’m thankful to of been one of those lives. 21 years with you Pop wasn’t quite long enough, but I’ll cherish every moment of it. From teaching me how to change a tire, introducing me to my love of Ford Mustangs, showing me what you can accomplish in a lifetime with hard work and dedication, to the pure love of a grandfather, & all the other in betweens. One of the last things you said to me was “I’m proud of you” and I will forever keep that with me. I love you & miss you Pop! I’m gonna keep making you proud!!

My dad was also my best friend
Dad was someone that if he started something he gave his all and it was going to be done correctly. He was a profectionist. He married my mom and moved to Atlanta with three children to start a better life and like everything he did it was a success. During his life he was a Marine,  Worked as a boat mechanic, a carpenter and built cars at Ford Motor Co amount other things. He built and raced cars and to him 2nd was first loser there was no points system and losing was not in his DNA. He believed in fairness and discipline. He loved the outdoors, was an avid sportsman loved hunting and fishing. He loved to  travel and to my knowledge went to  49 of 50 states, Mexico and Canada. He scheduled his vacations to where everyone was included, we as children never got left behind. Dad was a believer in Christ and was not afraid to share that with everyone. He loved Mt Bethel UMC and all the people there. I  don't believe there was anyone dad met he could not carry on a conversation with. He was the person that as a child I wanted to be like. He loved his wife children grandchildren and great grandchildren, he just loved children in general, he loved god and his church. He will be missed by all who knew  him, but he got what he wanted out of life and knew where he would be after death. I love and miss you dad and will someday see you again.

I have lost the love of my life. Herman always got up every morning and made coffee for us, then he would set down at the breakfast table and read his bible and daily devotion. He would then wake me up  with  do you want a cup of coffee? He would go pour me a cup of coffee and take it out on the back porch for me to join him. When I finally got up and came out on the porch I would always walk over to him and kiss him four times on the lips and then once on the top of his head. Then  I would tell him that I love you,  he would 
 look up at me and always say I love you too with his sweet little smile. 

    Honey I love you and miss you so much. I know you will be waiting on me.

Herman was always such a light in Mount Bethel church. He was a kind smile and handshake (or hug) to everyone on Sunday morning. 

All my love goes out to Becky and their sweet family.

Herman was the sweetest man. He was always in church any time the doors were open. This was him and Johnny Berry at the fall festival! I’ll miss you Herman!

When it comes to Father in laws, I hit the jackpot. Herman was a wonderful man that I will miss dearly. Losing him was like losing my own Daddy. He accepted me and my children into the family with open arms and a big heart. I have the utmost respect for him and always will. He hugged everyone when they came in the door and when they were leaving. I can still hear him telling me, Hey "hun" or I love you too Hun. Pop, Hun loves you and misses you.

Herman and Becky 
The definition of true love!

My Pop was one of the greatest! He was the strongest and toughest Pop on the planet. He always had a story that would make you cry tears of laughter. When he told those stories, he was so animated and told them with such detail that you felt like you were there. He was the definition of a car enthusiast, especially Fords. He was a Ford man, through and through. He would give the world just to see a smile on the face of the ones he loved. He knew everything and about everything and loved to share his knowledge. He loved Jesus. He will be missed by so many.
