Geraldine Doster

Geraldine Doster, age 93, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away July 29, 2023. She was born July 29, 1930 in Bethlehem, Georgia to the late Dewey Gartrelle and Abie Louise Griffith Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vivian Doster; infant son, Steven James Doster; daughter, Betty Jean Myers; sister, Frances Louise Simpson. Geraldine retired after nearly 25 years with BellSouth with perfect attendance. She was a member of Macon Drive Baptist Church and was a caretaker to everyone, especially her family, whom she dearly loved. She enjoyed sewing, restoring dolls and attending to her flowers, and plants. Survivors include her children, Glenda (Larry) Alewine of Griffin, Carol (Tim) Ensley of Jonesboro, Judy (Herbert) Tucker of Stockbridge, Jimmy (Sharon) Doster of Douglasville and Kay Turner of Jenkinsburg; 20 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 40 great-great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Peppers of Gainesville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023 - 12:00 pm in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 10:00 am until the service hour. Interment will follow at Doster Cemetery in Monroe, Georgia at 3:30 pm.
