George Russell Brooks

Mr. George Russell Brooks, age 76, of McDonough, GA passed away February 22, 2018. Mr. Brooks was born in Eaton, Indiana the son of the late Mildred Elizabeth Lange Brooks and William Ashable Brooks. He was preceded in death by sisters, Viola, Edith and Louise.

He graduated from Glendale High School in Glendale, Arizona and received his BA from Georgia State University in Business Administration. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1959 until 1963. Mr. Brooks enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, fishing, restoring an antique car, working on home projects, and visiting the casinos.

Survivors are his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie McNeff Brooks of McDonough; children, Mark Brooks of McDonough and Lori Smith (Marty) of Hampton; grandchildren Brent Brooks and Emily Brooks of McDonough and Hannah Smith of Hampton; siblings, Ted Brooks (Dorothy) of Arizona, Frank Bailey of Arizona, and Fritz Bailey (Sue) of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Brooks will be held at a later date.
