Freddy Kent

Freddy Kent, age 72 passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Freddy was born January 29, 1950 to the late Fred "BB" and Edna "BeBaw". In addition to his parents his is preceded in death by his brother Ricky Kent.

He is survived by his wife Cindy Kent; children Cathy and husband Marrio McCard and Randy Kent; his grandchildren Cody Lanier, Christopher Kent, Alicia and husband Cory Harvey, Nicklas Foster, Savannah McCard, and Kadynce McCard; sisters Diane Stroup, Barbara and husband Larry Grimes, and Peggy and husband Norman Lucifer; as well as many great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Freddy spent 28 years in law enforcement as a police officer for the Atlanta area. Although he retired in 1998 he continued to serve his community by working within the industry as security for the Atlanta Braves and other various jobs for as long as he was able. His love for his job did not take away from all the love he shared for his family, especially his grandkids who he frequently took on vacations. He made sure he never missed a birthday and was always in the stands cheering them on at various sporting events. Freddy had a passion for his family and it showed in his dedication to them rather it was taking a cruise with his wife or spending time with his children. In addition to his love for his family he had a special place in his heart for dogs, being referred to as a "dog magnet" by his family. He didn't care much for them until he had them, and he especially cared for his doxin Hunter. Freddy spent his life serving and loving and he will be greatly missed.

The family will greet friends from 10:00am - 12:00pm Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, GA. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 12:00pm in the Haisten’s chapel.
