Mr. Ernest Jack Turner, Jr., age 92, of McDonough, GA passed away November 1, 2015. Mr. Turner was born and raised in Henry County the son of the late Lee Ora Upchurch Turner and Ernest J. Turner Sr. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Carolyn Anderson and Mary Frances Turner. He served his country in the US Army Air Force during World War II. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of McDonough for 68 years. Mr. Turner was also a member of the American Legion Post 55 and a member of the Fraternal Lodge of GA #37 F & AM. Survivors are his wife of 73 years, Bonelle Crumbley Turner of McDonough; daughters, Jackie Turner Lunsford of Athens, GA and Nan Turner McGarity and husband, John of McDonough; grandchildren, Andy Lunsford (Laurie), Keith Lunsford (Robin), Adam McGarity (Nicky), Nathan McGarity (Jessica), and Reed McGarity; 7 great grandchildren, Kristin and Jordan Lunsford, Allie, Oliva and Miller John McGarity, and Ryan and Will Lunsford; brother, John Turner in Knoxville, TN and a sister, Helen Love of Macon, GA. A funeral service for Mr. Jack Turner will be on Saturday, November 7, 2015 – 11:00 AM at McDonough First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Bergman, Rev. James Miller, and Bill Steele officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
