Emma was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Virgil and Ollie Rakestraw. In addition to her parents, she was greeted in Heaven by her brother Virgil, son-in-law Randy and 2 grandchildren.
Emma spent 33 years in Retail Management with Marshall's where her outgoing personality and love for others made her a success.
Traveling was one of Emma's favorite things to do as well as her love for Nascar. Emma was also known for her love of Elvis, a self-described "diehard fan! "
Emma's memory lives on through her husband of 58 years Charles Dotson and her children Sue Roberts, Lavon (Gary) Ray, Charles (Marsha) Dotson, Retha (Mike) Thomas, Kevin (Wanda) Dotson and Beatrice (JR) Wallker. She is also blessed with a legacy of 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday October 12, 2024 at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough, Ga beginning at 2:00 PM.
