Dave Black, 74 of Hampton passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was born on Monday, January 27, 1947 in Geneva, Illinois to James and Elsie Black, Sr. Dave graduated from D. M. Therrell High School and joined the U.S Army in 1967 where he received the purple heart and several other medals. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and watching Notre Dame and the "Cubbies". Dave is survived by his wife of 49 years, Georgia, amazing Dad to Laura (Jeff) Bonner of Forsyth, GA, Karen (Zach) Rhoton of Roswell, GA and John (Lindy) Black of Williamson, GA. Five grandchildren, Kayla (Marcus) Carter, Jesse (Karina) West, Locklyn Black, Brecken Rhoton and Kimber Black. Five great grandchildren and two brothers, James Robert "Bud" Black, Jr. and Clifford (Rose) Black, both from Orlando, Florida. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00pm on Friday, April 16, 2021 in our chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Georgia.
