At Leeds High School in Sioux City, IA. Connie Ives was a cheerleader as well as a basketball player. It was around this time in her life that she embarked on a journey that would span the next 65 and a half years. Marriage to Thomas Calhoun brought with it the title of "Military Wife". It was a career she enjoyed as they traveled all across the United States and around the world in place like Germany, Okinawa and other locations in Japan. Connie and Tom would be blessed with 5 children; Christy Calhoun (Pickett), Lori Doughty, Rod Calhoun (Tina), Carol Harden (Jana) and Marci Ogle (Scott) as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Connie loved dogs, watching birds and camping. It is certain she was reunited in Heaven with her parents Given and Marjorie Ives along with her brother-in-law Roland Junck, sons-in-law Bob Doughty and Mitch Edge as well as her beloved dog Levi! In addition to Tom and her children, Connie is survived by her identical twin sister Bonnie Porsch (Tom), sister Carol Junck, a host of nieces nephews and extended family, her church family at Mt. Bethel UMC in McDonough, Ga. and of course "The Cronies" her group of girlfriends. Connie's family will receive friends on Friday July 16 from 1pm to 2pm at Haisten Funeral Home with a Memorial service to follow at 2pm. Inurnment at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Ga will take place at 2:30 pm on Monday July 19, 2021.
