Chiyoko Kombo Holmes: A Life of Grace and Soaring Spirits
Born in Manchuria, China, Chiyo took to the skies and explored the world as a flight attendant for over 40 years with Eastern Airlines and Delta Airlines. Georgia became her beloved home base for much of her adult life. Here, she built a life filled with love, adventure, golf, and cats. Chiyo was married to Paul Holmes for nearly 50 years, a cherished partnership that brought them great joy and adventure. Chiyo sparkled. Known for her kindness, generosity, patience, and grace, she possessed a warmth that touched everyone she met. When Chiyo wasn't soaring through the clouds, you could find her on the golf course. A fierce competitor and great sportsman, she collected numerous hole-in-ones throughout her life. Chiyo was predeceased by her parents, Marvin and Miwa Meadows, her sister, Chieko M. Fuller, and her husband, Paul. She is survived by her sister, Chizuko, and will be dearly missed by her friends. In place of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local no-kill animal shelter in Chiyo's name - a fitting tribute to a woman whose heart overflowed with love for all animals. Per her wishes, no service will be held.
