Brenda Jean Hickey, age 74, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. She was born July 5, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Robert Gilstrap and Mary Elise Gilstrap. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John Edward Hickey. Brenda had worked at J.C. Penney for many years, was an avid reader and enjoyed travel and animal rescue. She loved to spend time and dote on her granddaughter. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Hickey-Wade and her husband Gordon Wade; granddaughter, Sara Wade; daughter, Angela Hickey; sister, Patricia McConnell; uncle, James Dacus; nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 - 2:00 pm in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service.
