Mrs. Betty Arnold Walden, age 72 of Jackson, Georgia passed away June 3, 2017. She was born in Stockbridge, Georgia to the late Garfield and Edna Faye Smith Arnold. She was a graduate of Northwood University in Cedar Hills, Texas. Betty retired after 26 years with the United States Army in food service quality control. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, making jewelry, painting and planting trees. Survivors include her husband, George Walden; children, Jeffrey Paul Johnston of Alaska and Candy Michelle Johnston of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Tiffany Michelle Purvis of Lenox, Tony Purvis of Nashville, Cassandra Elder of Salt Lake City, Utah and Jessica Johnston of Forest Park; great granddaughters, Madison Michelle Murray and Emma Grace Morton both of Lenox; siblings, Sam Jackson Arnold of McDonough, Gale Arnold Price of Jackson, Richard Lee (Margie) Arnold of Monticello and Faye Arnold (Jimmy) McGregor of McDonough. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough.
