Betty Morris

Betty Morris, age 94 passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024. She was born on July 13, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Robert and Mae Johnson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Lemmie "Sparky" Morris, two sons Stephen Lee Morris and Alan Robert Morris, and granddaughter Shelly Morris Avery.

Betty is survived by her daughter Karen (Jim) Gess; grandchildren Stephen Morris Jr., Phillip Morris, Matthew (Onuma) Morris, Skye (Josh) Gess, and Jake (Drew) Gess; as well as her great grandchildren and several beloved family members.

Betty was born and raised in Georgia. She spent over 30 years in East Point then moved to Fayetteville and lived an additional 33 years there before spending the remainder of her time in Milledgeville. She retired from the reservations department at Delta Airlines in 1986, where she had started in the purchasing department. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed not only by them, but also her friends and church community from Southwest Christian Church.

A visitation for Betty will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Southwest Christian Church, 3836 US-29, Newnan, GA 30265, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. A private graveside will take place later that day.
