Wilma Lorene Hester

Wilma Lorene Hester, 94, of Maysville, Kentucky died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was the widow of Raymond E. Hester who died March 19, 2009. Mrs. Hester was a member of the Central United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed with the Mason County High School and retired from the Mason County Board of Education after 24 years of service. Wilma was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on August 24, 1923 the daughter of the late Walter and Ola Mineer Prather. She is survived by her son, Fred Hester (Betty) of Maysville, KY and her daughter, Carol Jessee (Steve) of Maysville, KY; two grandchildren, Robbie Muse of Maysville, KY and Tara Hester Halbert (Joe) of Georgetown, KY and one great grandchild, Mary Parker Halbert. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Garnet Worley and Betty Moore. Funeral services for Wilma Hester will be held at the Central United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2018 with Rev. Sharon Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Employee Fund, 620 Parker Road, Maysville, KY 41056. The arrangements are entrusted to the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
