Thomas Chandler, 79, of Dell Acres Drive, Georgetown, Ohio died Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Chandler retired from the Ford Motor Company in Batavia, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Marine Corp. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Maysville Post #2734, attended the Washington School and the Georgetown Baptist Church. Mr. Chandler was born in Mason County, Kentucky on October 27, 1931 the son of the late John and Minnie Bussell Chandler. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lilly Chandler; one son, James Allen Chandler (Bonnie) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two stepsons Robert B. Bloss of Georgetown, Ohio and Howard Dean Bloss III (Julie) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Teresa Ann Smith (Vernon) of Chesapeake, Ohio; one grandchild, Caroline Chandler, six step-grandchildren, Traci Ebeling, Emily Bloss, Maggie Smith, Tyler Smith, B.J. Wurts and Lauren Bloss; three step great grandchildren, Harleigh Ebeling, Laney Ebeling, Kylie Ebeling and one niece, Angie Powell of Hamilton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Harlan Chandler, Edwin Vernon Chandler and John J. Chandler and two sisters, Sue Arthur and Virginia Chandler. Funeral services will be held at the Georgetown Baptist Church at 3:00 PM today, August 18, 2011 with Rev. Cliff Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church today from 2:00 PM until the hour of the service.
