Ray Bryant Toncray, 79, of Aberdeen, Ohio died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, KY. Ray was the loving husband of the late Shirley A. Toncray who died in November 2009. He was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on August 15, 1934 the son of the late William H. and Rosemary Lykins Toncray. Ray was a 1952 Graduste of Maysville High School, where he was a standout basketball player. He was a member of the Kentucky Liquor Farternity, the Church of the Nativity and the Maysville Moose Lodge. Ray was proud of his family and home and his favorite time was when his family was together for holidays and special occasions. He loved basketball and loved the UC Bearcats and UK Wildcats. He is survived by his four children, Carla Toncray Clement (Adam Allen) of Los Angeles, CA, Jeff Toncray (Lisa Fleshman) of Springfield, TN, Marla Toncray (Mike Breslin) of Maysville, KY and Michael Toncray (Maria) of Friendsville, TN; eight grandchildren, Jaclyn Badeau (Justin), Bryant Tuschl, Jennifer Lang (Byron), Travis Toncray (Johnna), Hayden Clement, Tara Machomer, Joshua Toncray, Noah Toncray; four great grandchildren, Gabrille toncray, Grace Preston, Raylee Toncray and Kambryn Lang; sister-in-laws Janice B. Collings, Mary Ann Collings, Paula Toncray, Jane Toncray; many nieces and nephews and special friends Rose Leo and Wayne Poe. In addition to his wife Shirley and his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tary Toncray and brothers, Jay Toncray, Tom Toncray and Robert Toncray. Services for Ray Bryant Toncray will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 9, 2014 with Rev. Mary Kilbourne-Huey officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Poe, Ed McClanahan, Jerry Calvert, Fats Tolle, Ray Seng, Joey Etters, Mark Heminger, Jerome Gallenstien, Bob Zweigart, Jerry Andrews, Jim Joe Toncray, Fred Toncray, Mark Fritz, Rodney Hampton, Jeff Smith and Pat Gilligan. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brooklyn Neal Heminger Scholarship Fund, % the Maysville Community and Technical College or to the Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe.
