Catherine “Clark” Stanfield, 100, of Maysville, Kentucky died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe. Mrs. Stanfield was the widow of Richard Russell Stanfield who died in 2003. The couple married on March 5, 1934 and had been married for sixty-nine years at his death. Mrs. Stanfield was the oldest member of the Olivet United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School and also had served as the church treasurer. She was an outstanding Christian lady of deep abiding faith. Mrs. Stanfield was an avid quilter, a Kentucky Colonel and a Mason County Pioneer. She was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on October 12, 1917 the daughter of the late Scott and Anna Lee Ferguson Craycraft. Survivors include two sons, Tommy Stanfield (Janice) and Terry Stanfield both of Maysville, KY; one daughter-in-law, Jeanne Stanfield of Tollesboro, KY; Nine grandchildren, Craig Stanfield (Beverly), Christie Henson (Rodney), Darin Stanfield (Jennifer), Bridget Lykins (John), Clay Stanfield (Missy), Beverly Breeze, Matthew Stanfield (Kerri), Brian Stanfield (Susie) and Chad Stanfield (Rachael); numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Cropper of Union, KY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Buford Stanfield, one great grandson, Cullen Stanfield, one daughter-in-law, Vicki Stanfield, two brothers, Glenn Craycraft and Thomas Ray Craycraft and two sisters, Leona Lanthorn and Oleta Thomas. Funeral services for Catherine “Clark” Stanfield will be held at the Olivet UMC at 12:30 PM Saturday, April 14, 2018 with Dr. Mike Rice, Rev. Kent Moore and Rev. Sam Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Craig Stanfield, Darin Stanfield, Clay Stanfield, Matthew Stanfield, Brian Stanfield and Chad Stanfield. Visitation will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM and also at the Olivet UMC on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Olivet UMC, Ruggles Campground and Retreat Center or to the Gideons International.
