Thomas Joseph Sorohan

THOMAS JOSEPH SOROHAN, age 72, passed away March 29, 2022. Beloved son of the late Leo and Ethel (nee Maxwell); dearest father of Stephanie Sorohan, Audrey Sorohan (deceased), Laura McGinty (Thomas), and Alexandra Sorohan (Jake Pollock); dear grandfather of Sheridan Sorohan, Michael McGinty, Krista McGinty, Colin McGinty, Liam McGinty, and Maeve Pollock; dear great-grandfather of Nolan Sorohan and Joshua Klancher; and dear brother of Carol Fournier (deceased), Robert Sorohan (Shirley), and Jane King (Robert).

Thomas was born in Columbus, OH but spend most of his youth in the Buckeye neighborhood of Cleveland where he made lifelong friends. He started a family when he was 20 years old in the Collinwood neighborhood. Thomas took an interest in graphic arts after working for a printing company and then started his own printing business on Lakeshore Blvd. Thomas later moved to Atlanta, GA where he remarried, had another child, and continued employment in the printing business. When Thomas returned to Cleveland, he worked as a meat cutter at Giant Eagle until his retirement. Thomas made many friends and happy memories during his years at Giant Eagle. Although he had a tendency to come across as gruff, once people got to talk to him, they loved his charm and wit – including all his one-liners. He was also the go-to guy for football parlay tickets. Thomas enjoyed weight lifting in his younger adult years, golf and the occasional ice fishing trip later in life. Thomas was a generous and sentimental individual, considered an “old soul” by many. He will be missed greatly.

The family will receive friends at the DiCICCO & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 5975 MAYFIELD RD. MAYFIELD HTS OH 44124, TUESDAY April 5th from 3:00 – 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home WEDNESDAY April 6th at 10:00 am, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences www.diciccoandsonsfh.com.
