On the morning of April 8, 2025, Joseph “Joe” A. Perella Jr. passed away from his battle with colon cancer at the age of 65. Joseph was born on February 9, 1960 in Cleveland Ohio. Anyone who knew him knows that his love for the game was unmatched. Whether it was watching the high school football game of the week with his buddies on Friday nights, coaching football, basketball, baseball and softball, or watching his girls play in their various sports, he continued to be a dedicated coach and fan to the game throughout his life. Every morning without fail, you would hear the blaring music of a Backstreet Boys soundtrack while he was working out in the basement. Lunch mainly consisted of an Italian sub from one of his favorite sandwich shops in the area. Evenings typically involved coaching if he was in season, or watching his favorite sports team on TV. His infectious sense of humor and his love for his players will forever be remembered for years to come. Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Perella, Sr. and Joan Welty, grandparents Angelo and Elizabeth Perella, and Joseph and Angela Marino. He is survived by his wife, Michele and his daughters Angela (Joliene) and Amanda, brother John Perella, and step-parents Kathy Perella and Lester Welty. Please join the family in celebrating Joe’s life anytime between the hours of 4:30-7:30pm on Friday April 18, 2025 at DiCicco & Sons Funeral Home at 5975 Mayfield Rd in Mayfield Hts., OH.
