JOHN "Harvey" PHILLIPS passed away peacefully at his home in Euclid, OH, on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the age of 94 1/2, after a long, happy and healthy life. Born on January 7, 1930, in South Fork, PA, to Thomas and Julia Phillips. Harvey's life was a testament to love, service and community. Beloved by all who knew him, Harvey's warmth and generosity impacted everyone he encountered. Known for his kind heart and witty sense of humor, he was a cherished friend, devoted father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Harvey's compassion and steadfast support made him a pillar of strength for his family and friends. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he demonstrated his patriotism and dedication to his country. Harvey is survived by his loving children, Susan, Harvey (Diane) and Cathy; his adoring grandchildren, Caley, Michelle (Dave), Holden (Amber) and Heather (Mike); and his treasured great-grandchildren, Neila, Stanley, Hunter and Hazel. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois “Honey”, whose memory he cherished every day. He is the dear brother of Anna Navatsyk (Donald, deceased), Judy Woznick (Ronald, deceased), Beverly Lasko (Anthony), Ellen Walters (deceased), Thomas Phillips (deceased) and Ralph Wadsworth (deceased). In addition to his family, Harvey found joy and fulfillment in life’s simple pleasures. He loved getting outside and selling his found treasures, a hobby that brought him great happiness and connected him to many in his community. Harvey was also a dedicated Christian and actively served his community through his work at Grandpa’s Attic at his churches, embodying the spirit of service and faith.The family will receive friends at the DiCICCO & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 5975 MAYFIELD RD. MAYFIELD HTS. OH 44124, FRIDAY August 9th from 4:00-7:00 pm. Friends and family are encouraged to wear a flash of red - Harvey's favorite color - in his honor.
