Alberta ‘Allie’ Wallace died peacefully at home on March 25, 2024. She overlooked her beloved garden while her favorite music played on the stereo. Fifteen years ago Alberta was given a terminal cancer diagnosis and less than a year to live, to which she said “I’m not ready”. She then traveled the world with her husband Craig who passed in 2018, but she kept on going. Her goal was to see her daughter Melissa have a child, and that came true. She spent the last 6 years being a grandma to Eleanor, who she loved dearly. These past few years Allie has shown strength and determination that most of us couldn’t aspire to. With the help of friends, family (especially her niece Shannon) and caregivers she was able to live the life at home she wanted to. She will be missed by her friends and family, but we will always remember her courage and spunk. We will think of her when we see a beautiful work of art, eat a great slice of cake, or hear the Eagles’ ‘Hotel California’ come on the air.
No service will be held at this time, until we’ve grieved a bit and can celebrate her properly. When we’re ready we’ll be in the garden drinking champagne in fabulous outfits, soaking up the sun and remembering the good times.
