Yvonne Daisy Martin, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, departed from this world on April 15, 2024. She was born on August 19, 1956, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony, and her siblings Roland, Patricia, and Valerie. She is survived by her children Shawn (Irene), Tonya, and Kiron, as well as her cherished grandchildren Deron, Desmond, Diana, Devon, Damarius,Tana, Tianna, Erika, Kallie, Nia, Kiron Jr. Tempest, Cherysh, and Kayla. Her legacy further lives on through her adored great-grandchildren Jordan, Chloe, and Caiden.
Yvonne was the devoted sister to Cheryl, Gloria, Ruthie, Gwen, Tina, and Cynthia. She was the glue that held her family together, always ensuring they remained close-knit and connected.
Known for her love of the color red, Yvonne had a passion for life that was infectious. She was a phenomenal cook, with her kitchen often being the heart of family gatherings. Her great sense of humor and vibrant personality made her the life of every party she attended.
Yvonne was a devoted parishioner of South Hempstead Baptist Church for 20 years, where her faith remained steadfast and strong.
A funeral service to honor Yvonne's life will be held on April 26th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the James Funeral Home. Following the service, interment will take place at Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead, New York.
Yvonne's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones who passed before her.
