Massapequa, NY - George T. Dowd, age 91, of Massapequa, New York, passed away on April 15, 2024. Born on July 30, 1932, George touched the lives of many with his kindness, and unwavering love for his family.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol, with whom he shared countless cherished memories and love. George will be forever remembered as a devoted father to his children, Richard (Sheryl) and Karen. As a cherished grandfather to James (Colleen) and Jonathan, George's love knew no bounds. He was a constant source of wisdom, support, and unconditional love. To his great-grandsons, Connor and Denny, George was a source of endless love and devotion
George proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, demonstrating bravery and dedication in defense of freedom and democracy. In addition to his military service, George was a master carpenter, crafting beautiful pieces with skill and precision. His craftsmanship will live on as a testament to his talent and dedication to his craft.
George had a passion for golf that brought him joy and camaraderie throughout his life. He found solace and happiness on the golf course.
A devoted family man, George leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and unwavering devotion. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Interment services will be held at Calverton National Cemetery on April 24th at 12:00 PM, where George will be laid to rest with military honors, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Forever in our hearts, George's memory will be cherished and his spirit will live on in the lives of those he touched. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved wife, Carol, in the embrace of eternal love.
