Diane B. Ferrari, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on December 4, 1943, Diane lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family and her Catholic faith.
Diane was the cherished wife of Osvaldo Ferrari, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. She was a loving mother to her daughter Christina (Victor) Bhasin and son Steven (Rosella) Ferrari. Her pride and joy were her five grandchildren—Nicholas, Anthony, Sarah, Matthew, and Isabella—whom she adored and cared for as a full-time grandmother after leaving her job to dedicate herself to their upbringing.
Known as the true matriarch of her family, Diane had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together. Whether it was a holiday celebration or a simple gathering, she ensured everyone sat around the table to enjoy her legendary cooking and warm company. Her pancakes were a family favorite, loved by all, and her lasagna was an unmatched masterpiece that no one could replicate, no matter how hard they tried. Diane’s kitchen was the heart of her home, and her meals were an expression of her boundless love.
Diane’s deep Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Massapequa Park, where she found strength and community. Her compassion extended beyond her family as she embraced her role as a dedicated caretaker, always putting the needs of others before her own. She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures, like playing bingo with friends and family.
Diane leaves behind her loving sister, Linda, and her niece, Kimberly, along with countless others who were touched by her kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral arrangements for Diane will be held at James Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM. A Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Massapequa Park on Thursday at 10:45 AM, followed by entombment at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep Diane’s memory alive by sharing a meal with loved ones, just as she would have wanted.
