Verna D. "Vicki" Pittman

Verna D. “Vicki” Pittman, age 77, passed away November 30, 2010. She was born in Rolfe, Iowa August 26, 1933 to Clifford and Helen (Peterson) Sandy. Vicki worked at Wyeth Laboratories in Mason as a lab technician for 37 years. She love to garden, sew and do needlepoint. Vicki and her husband, Quentin, enjoyed many summers on their boat in Grand Haven, MI. In her younger years, she was a Girl Scout leader, Sparrow Hospital volunteer, and did charity work with her sorority sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Quentin Pittman (2006); daughter, Ellen Pittman; and grandson, Aaron Leu. Surviving are her son, Merrill Pittman (Amy Penninger); daughter, Pam (Curt) Leu; grandchildren, Kellie Pittman, Niklas, Patrick and Gary Leu; 2 brothers, Kay Leroy Sandy of Kingman, AZ and Merrill (Gloria) Sandy of Council Bluff, IA; sister, Pat Shrader of Naples, FL; dear and close friends, Judy Baxter, Faye Cross and Ruth Wilks. We will miss our loving mother and the sweet smile she had for everyone. The family wishes to thank the Craft Care Home for the wonderful care provided to Mom over the last 3 years.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with interment immediately following in Hawley Cemetery, Mason. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
