Dear Hallie,
Your grandmother was the best thing that happened to us as we made our transition to public schools.  Sema loved her and I found not only a great teacher, but a true friend and a loving heart in her.  We are still in shock in coming to accept her loss.  Keep on dancing: you were the apple of her eye and her pride and joy in seeing you grow up was evident in every moment of her life.  She will be missed dearly.  May she rest in peace.

I was saddened to hear the news about Mrs. Smalley! She was my youngest son's teacher, and what a wonderful teacher she was! Her class room was always very organized and decorated creatively. Just a happy place to come to. And boy, she always had her students attention! I also very much enjoyed working with her while I was helping out during lunch hours at Central. Thinking about her will always put a smile on my face.

Mrs.Smalley was not only a wonderful  teacher, but a loving, giving woman. She taught  her students to work hard and never give up! She would always lend a helping hand and do her best to help others. She would give without ever expecting anything in return; not even a "thank you". She will be greatly missed!

When you see a great teacher you are seeing a work of art. You, Mrs. Smalley are  a masterpiece.  You were mine and many others favorite teacher.  The love you had for the mind and soul of the children you taught was so evident, and 40 years later I can still feel it, and I  am profoundly grateful.  I will miss you my teacher, my friend.

As a former student (1975), I had the good fortune to have shared in the energy and passion that Sheila invested in her students.  Prayers for grace and comfort to the Smalley family.
