Sandra Kay Shier, 76, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan. She was born April 17, 1943 in Jackson, Michigan to Robert and Doris (Smith) Todd, and she worked for many years as the office administrator of Alaiedon Township.
A gifted lifelong sewer and crocheter, Sandy made beautiful quilts and lovely afghans for many. She was active at St. James Catholic Church in Mason, and she enjoyed scrapbooking family photos and memories.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Pickell; father, Robert Todd; step-father, Howard Pickell; and brother, Robert Todd Jr.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Philip "Phil" Shier; daughters, Kimberly (Richard "RJ") Lomas and Kristin (fiancé Eric Trojanowicz) Leveille; grandchildren, Andy, Alex, and Abigail; and sisters, Vickie (the late Bruce) Gallaway and Teresa (Gary) Canfield.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing St., Mason, with visitation one hour prior. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 4-7 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan for their attentiveness and loving care.
