Robert Dale Ruttan Sr., age 85, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2015. He was born January 16, 1930 to Ralph and Florence (Mishler) Ruttan. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving with the military in Japan and Korea.
In 1951, Robert met his future wife, Lucille Ketchum, while working for her father at Ketchum Gravel in Mason. They married and went on to spend 63 wonderful years together. While Robert worked as a mechanic for most of his life, he also served as a Pastor in the late 1960’s, built his own home, studied family genealogy, and spent time traveling, camping, and writing programming for the Commodore Computer– a passion he continued for the rest of his life.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lorna Ruttan Ketchum.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Lucille; his children, Robert Ruttan Jr., Kathryn (the late William) Norton, Yvonda (Robert) Desormier, and Jo (Tim) Ankney; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Danesh Manik, will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, at Holt Assembly of God Church, 4973 Holt Rd, Holt, Michigan.
